I am British Academy Global Professor of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Cambridge and Professor of Philosophy at the University of South Florida.
My principal research interests are in the philosophy of science, the philosophy of physics, the philosophy of climate science, and the role of models and simulations to guide policy, especially in climate and public health.
I have held visiting fellowships in the program in History and Philosophy of Science at Northwestern University, at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research (ZiF), at the University of Bielefeld, the Institute for Advanced Study at The University of Durham, the center for advanced studies and the MCMP at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich, The University of California, Berkeley, and the Institute for Advanced Study at Universität Leuphana, Lüneburg.
